im in love with @indiigocats corrupted diamond designs because basing them on other kaiju to parallel Steven’s godzilla-esque look is super clever. I’ve been meaning to draw some fanart for a while, so here we are!

The lustrous and terrifying, White, Blue and Yellow Diamond

Oke so I wanted to lay down some info about the AU I’ve been working on cause I’ve been thinking about it a lot asfhsk

The main question I’ve been getting is how the heck they even became corrupted and I wanted to start off by saying is that they corrupted themselves. At the end of the gem war when they launched their corruption attack against the gems on Earth some of that beam was reflected right back at them by Rose’s shield, corrupting them too.

The most major change to the story is that none of the diamond arcs really happen in this timeline, Steven finds out about Pink Diamond being Rose naturally and sort of figuring it out for himself. The story begins with Steven having dreams about the Diamonds and he finds himself being called from across space to a planet that he, the gems and Connie eventually go to despite the gems encouraging him not to. He feels a need to help them and so a long journey begins to save them and every other corrupted gem.

I will be most likely writing this story while drawing out some key scenes and small comics rather then doing the whole thing as a comic. I’m really excited about this AU and I know I don’t have the time to dedicate to a full length comic so I thought this would work best ^^
