Wicked Wisp

When Charlie had first felt the sudden pang of uneasiness in their core, they’d assumed it was the result of a Lateral shift. They’d only been around for this once or twice before, and knew by now to search him out as soon as they felt the shift.
But by now it was taking far too long, the halls of the Clocktower seemed to be leading them the long way around and Char was almost starting to get frustrated with that when they caught a sudden flash of light out of the corner of their eye. Faster than they could react though, the little glowing ball rushed directly at them and slipped itself right up the bottom of their shirt.
“….Can I help you?” Char paused, checking down the front of their shirt and taking a look at the little ball of light and gears nestled up against their chest. Where the heck did that come from?
He trills a warm note, in ghost, carrying tones of happy possessiveness. This is his and all his and all good. He snugs as close to the warmbright core as he can get without jabbing them sharp in the chest. His faint blue glow brightens, trying to answer their light even if he can’t see it. Further tones laced with a feeling of Safety join the others with a soft whir.
