I kinda headcanon Soren as having ADHD, along with that, I see him going on long rambles about random things he’s interested in, like something about magic dirt. And Viren being a terrible father, probably got mad/annoyed at Soren for going on rambles and would ignore and yell at him.
Now that Soren is away from his dad, placing this at around season six, he has it so ingrained in his brain that these rambles are bad and that he’s being annoying. His friends now don’t care, but he’s still apologizing for ranting about something or switching from topic to topic or forgetting what he was saying mid sentence, no one really cares, they just use him as white noise and tell him it’s fine when he apologizes.
BUT this could be used for a Sorvus/Corven fic where Soren is rambling about something, and then he realized that Corvus is giving him his full attention and is like “wait what” cause he’s used to people ignoring him and what he’s rambling about. While Corvus is actively interacting and seeming interested in what Soren is saying.
Idk I just love Soren so much, that boy deserved so much better.
