Southern Pacific PAs No. 6007, 5918, and 6008 lead Train 102, the Eastbound City of San Francisco, across Utah's Great Salt Lake along the 12-mile wooden trestle of the Lucin Cutoff to Ogden where the train will be handed over to the Union Pacific. Although the trestle was dismantled from 1993 to 2000, trains still continue to cross the Great Salt Lake over a causeway that replaced the trestle in the late 1950s.

Had an absolutely awesome weekend. Started it of by being part of a crew creating a new trail in Hawk Canyon. We even checked off a COSCA Open Space Challenge trail ( Hidden Rim Trail) on the way down to our work site. COSCA 2019 Challenge - Trail - Oakbrook Vista Trail to Hidden Meadow Trail - March 5th. We completed our run on Tuesday evening as a winter storm approached. Felt a bit overwhelmed to see the devastation of the fires especially on one of my favorite sections- the Hidden Meadow descent to Falling Star. Thankful for the many times I ran it before the fires and look foward to seeing it's new beauty as it grows back.
