Vintage Story: Cosica /kɔːˈsɪkʊ/ June, Year 0

I started June with harvesting the sun scorched turnips and the decision to move the windmill further away from the house and up a hill. Spending time climbing the wattle structure to place daub of three colors, with of course a period of time away to get light brown daub and dye it pink. I spent a few hours watching the dawn come in from the top of the dirt pillar I was using to build from.

I spent a few days just laying in the Expanded Foods mod and made far too many berry breads and even started on some blueberry wine. I expanded the farm and made a more permanent structure for pit firing and added the from the golden combs mod for more comprehensive beekeeping.

I started on the mountain road up to get ice and less dangerous access to the trader on the mountain and have almost the entire boat built (we need the flax harvest to come in to finish the sails). Flax is, of course, the most important non food crop and I do not have enough seeds.

I found a fair amount of tin and have up graded my anvil to tin-bronze and have gotten the map to the Archive though I am putting off that trip at the moment in favor for getting the Temporal Gears to explore the other sides of the translocators I have found.

Since I have a fair number of Bighorn Sheep, Phesant and Pigs in the area I did set up the simplest of traps (two troughs of food inside of a fence) and then went to sleep and when I woke up there were animals in the pen and I was ale to close them off. So the addition of eggs and easier hides have been added to the farm.

I then spent some time figuring out how to get a pounder to work and I think I have all of the mechanics done, I just need yet more flax to make the sails.

I have fully achieved three leather backpacks and managed to find a mining sack for when I go out for Quartz or copper or whatever else. and I did manage to push out the cellar for meat storage and alcohol making. And I found leaded glass so the process to change out my windows has started.

I also have two cats now: Hancock and Burger.

I started what I will consider a forever world, I put the month length as high as it can go and dropped out a bunch of settings that I don't care for (temporal instability and took a number of settings from the exploration variety over survival..

The ever looming threat of winter does exist, though perhaps not a much as it is in shorter time span worlds. I started as I occasionally do by ignoring everything at spawn and moving a thousand blocks in a southern direction.

In the journey I found a number of underground ruins that has a number of useful things including an ancient bed and a three meter high door.spending nights under ground doesn't really bring memories well, I would say the nightmares might actually be worse, even if there are lights burning to keep away the darkness and the creatures that lurk within it.

I journeyed to the bauxite coast picking up blue clay and fire clay along the way. In a section of dry stream bed I found a small curve of mountain that has been hollowed by the long gone river with a small basin of water below it. I marked it on my map as a way place and the intention to make it a place that would be worth a pilgrimage in the future. Further Southwest was the curve of the ocean and flowering plains with a mixture of pine, birch and maple dotted throughout.

I began to build the start of my house with wattle fences, building first a place to keep me safe then expanding out into what would be a workshop. The walls went up quickly and I made sure to plant at least one seed for every tree I brought low. Soon a red shingle roof covered the orange wattle and daub house.

Although the walls are not entirely smooth, I know it will keep me warm in that I evitable winter. I increased the temporary food stores, put down fanned cobble for the floor and experienced a great amount of cave diving for tools and copper. The hammer and pickaxe were mostly panned to completion and the anvil took most of two deposits to complete. But armed with a saw I have begun to set up a second structure for tanning, dyeing, and other fiber prep.

I managed to collect two skeps worth of bees, though they are still filling their hives I have enough space to expand to another six skeps (and probably further) in time. Beyond the apiary I am working on a pine, birch and Yellow daub windmill. Currently I am starting with the structure as the mechanical parts will come next.
