Cosines were a North London, England band who met while riding the Underground after a Stereo Totale concert. Simon Nelson (The Leaf Library) and Alice Hubley (The Loves) quickly formed a group and "Oscillations" is their only full length, released in 2014 by Fika Recordings (this only costs £5 on the Bandcamp page).

I was immediately struck by the first track, "Out Of The Fire". There's a Blondie-like (and Violet French and The Horrible) confidence to Hubley's vocals. And while the entire album doesn't match this song, there are plenty of highlights, especially when Hubley is on vocals.

The Bandcamp page has plenty of name-dropping: (1) Bands played with - Comet Gain, The Pooh Sticks and Seapony, (2) Collaborators - Gary Olson (The Ladybug Transistor) and Gabe Saucedo (Still Flyin'), and (3) Inspirations - Love, United States of America and Stereolab.
