forreal....i am so tired of people misusing the word empathy. a lot of people mix it up with sympathy or compassion and, being a low empathy person, it drives me Insane. i Need people to be reminded of what words mean. also begging people to realize that being low empathy is Not a Bad Thing. sonic being low empathy doesn't mean that he doesn't care about his friends or that he can't be good at comforting them, it just means that he can't really understand or share their feelings. the scene in prime with him not understanding the significance of the palm tree is literally the perfect example of his low empathy imo

this post has really good definitions on empathy and im begging for people to read it. empathy =/= how much you care about things its just not what that means. stoppp the amount of empathy you have is Morally Neutral and says nothing about you as a person. and like hot take but even having low/no sympathy or compassion doesnt make you Bad or Evil or Inhuman either

Please Help !!

Hi so my partner Beckett @cosmicaces is facing homelessness bc their parents are kicking them out effective tomorrow bc of, you guessed it, homophobia. They will no longer have their phone as it was on a family plan and Beckett has only one day to gather their things and we have no space for any of it. We are currently staying at an Airbnb until August 22nd. It is a little more than 30 minutes away from where they work, and they don't make the money needed to keep up with gas prices.

They were threatened by their stepdad and we don't feel safe. Any d*nations or affordable housing recommendations for the Connecticut/Massachusetts area would be very much appreciated.
