Oh and also I'm thinking that Stevonnie may be a part of the finale, I think Connie is comfortable and brave enough to help Steven free the Gems; sort of a long stretch but I can picture Connie helping out some way, if she needed to. But also Steven doesn't want to tell Connie something in "Full Disclosure". What do you think? Stevonnie will make another appearance before season 2?

I think we'll probably see Stevonnie again but not in the finale, I just don't see how they could fit in. Connie will probably come into play somehow but not as Stevonnie. Just my guess though, because Connie has to be largely absent from the events for Steven to be keeping things from her in "Full Disclosure" (but she could be in "The Return" but not in "Jail Break")

Soooo... was it part of Rose's plan to have a human/gem hybrid? I'm getting some Breaking Dawn flashbacks. And do you think Stevonnie will be in the episodes today? (I'm pretty sure I asked you this but you never answered, so I figure I'd try again. I'm sure you're getting A LOT of asks this week).

Like, as some kind of political play? I don’t think so. I don’t think Rose ever knew that creating a Gem-human hybrid was even possible until she fell in love with a human. I don’t think that’s something you can predict or plan or, especially, fake. I think Greg and Rose were able to create new life because they were genuinely very deeply in love and then connected on a sort of spiritual level. It’s not something she could ever make happen, it could only ever happen naturally

I think that maybe, in a way, becoming Steven was a way for her to sort of be human, in a sense, along with creating a bridge between their species because that would be the only way to get the homeworld to really understand what it is they’re doing by destroying the planet. I don’t think it was planned, though, I just think the opportunity came up, so to speak, and she took it.

I don’t think Stevonnie will be in the season finale, I don’t see there being an opportunity for them to come up and I don’t think Connie is involved in what’s going to happen (at least, I don’t believe she’ll be in “Jail Break”). Stevonnie may show up in “Full Disclosure”, since its paired with “Alone Together”, but I think that’s more because both episodes are about the relationship between Steven and Connie.

The Thousand Year-Door is amazing!

oh man, it is one of my all-time favorite games! Its so good! I actually played it before playing the first Paper Mario so that might be why I like it SO much better but, man, its just such a good game. Solid gameplay, interesting characters, lots of humor. Like, its just FUN. The whole arena bit is just amazingly good fun. And I'm a sucker for the 'mystery on a train' trope and then there's a whole chapter on that and I just loved that.

Man, I gotta take out the old gamecube and give the game another playthrough, its been a while since I last played it.

oh man, that'd be a pretty bombastic episode to have around your birthday, a season finale. Judging from how amazing the mid-season finale was, I bet the season finale will be earth-shattering (maybe literally? haha)

Hey, maybe the corrupted gems were on the Crystal Gems' side, you know, before they got corrupted.

That's possible, I suppose it depends on what causes corruption and why they would be corrupt and not the Crystal Gems. The Crystal Gems seem to be a special group because the temple is only for them (the door is only activated by their particular gems) and that seems significant.

However, I'd wager most Gems don't care about humanity. The Crystal Gems seem to care the most and they're all pretty distant and disinterested overall so it seems kind of unlikely there were that many Gems further removed than the 3 who supported the "protect the Earth" campaign

But then, the battlefield in "Serious Steven" is pretty huge to just have been 4 vs who knows how many. So maybe there were more on their side. Unless they used 'living infantries' as mentioned in "Frybo"

So yea, could go either way I suppose, since we know so little about whatever conflict happened

When I first head about another episode involving the sea spire I was all like "Yeah the sea spire is going to be back!" Buuuuuut, that seems unlikely, because Pearl said it'll be another 100 years before it can be back again. Steven will probably have an entirely new test, hopefully involving another gem setting on Earth. The sea spire could be back, though, anything's possible.

I don't recall Pearl ever saying the Sea Spire would return in 100 years, could you be mixing it up with the underwater place in "Steven and the Stevens"?

I don't think the Sea Spire will be back either, 'cause it probably wasn't as important of a place as the Gems were making it out to be. I think we'll be seeing a new place, unrelated to the Sea Spire
