Idk if this has been asked before but how did you discover Elton John?
I actually don't think anyone has ever asked me this before!!
Elton John's music has always been a part of my life in some way. I grew up listening to some of his music since my parents are children of the 70s and my mom is a fan of his. When I was in elementary school, one of my after school care teachers loved Elton John and would play his music all the time. One of my favorite Just Dance routines was the I'm Still Standing one. And of course, I'm Still Standing has been my favorite song for a long time, I wanna say since I was 10.
I really started getting into his music when I was in high school though. I've always really liked music from the 70s and 80s and thought it was time to explore artist's discographies instead of just listening to songs I knew I liked. Elton John just happened to be the one I loved the most.
And my god, did his music help me during the pandemic. I was losing my sanity during lockdown, but his music kept me going. He helped me feel ok with being who I truly am.
He's shaped a lot of who I am today, and I don't think I'll ever stop being a fan of him and his work.
Anyway, thank you so much for asking this! Genuinely I don't think anyone has ever asked me that before, so I really appreciate it!!
