#cosplayglowup A princess always goes through a transformation, am I right? ♥️🍎 While I loved my 2014 design, I made the bodice with plastic boning to save money and it looked terrible after a full day of wear. And the gold filigree photographed ok in this picture, in person it had a greenish tint and looked messy because it was just painted on. My wig was from eBay and was a curly tangled mess and my crown, while I like she original idea I had to add flowers, kind of lessened the regal look. In 2017 I made an entirely new bodice with good spiral steel boning and beauty beaded fabric. I designed a more historical shape with the bodice and the sleeves and I think it looks so much better. I bought a high quality lace front wig and curled the entire thing and had a nice gold crown. My makeup skills always improved greatly ❤️ The skirt was the only thing I kept the same. And I'm still working on this costume! I still want to make a collar and add more detail to the bodice. Just asked you that a lot of times cosplays are never complete. Im always thinking of better ways to improve them after wearing. #cosplayglowup One of the first costumes I made. An original airbender from Avatar the last Airbender. Back in 2008 I actually made 4 costumes from this show, one for each of the nations for my friends. Things I improved on for this cosplay glow up: - I learned wigs were a staple for cosplay - Used better looking fabrics - Designed a unique look that played off the show's original design, but still made it my own - Improved my makeup skills There are a lot of different ways to improve. But sometimes just improving on simple things like makeup and wearing a wig and learning to pose can really help you look like a cosplay pro.
