From foam to metal. Still need to add assorted detail, doodads and some rust. But getting the metallic coloring on these really starts to make this piece feel like it's coming together.

It's bad luck to not name a gun, right?

Finally decided to dive right in with the head sculpt for my costume. Still plenty of work ahead before making a plaster mold.

Plugging away slowly, but surely, on the chest plate, back breather and the gun. With the exception of the chest plate, the other two are evolving concepts that are straying from their initial design a bit. Hopefully making fast decisions on the fly will keep this project on pace to make my deadline. Maybe I should bring those sketches back out and make sure I am heading in the right direction.  The gun is going to be comically big. I have seen plenty of weapons people have fashioned from video game characters. But this one is getting a little inspiration from Eddie Valiant’s Toon Town six shooter from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” and “Big Baby”, the oversized weapon from “Hellboy”. The main green section of the gun was a water gun from Five Below. It’ll get tricked out with some more PVC, some other doodads and whatzits to make it seem ridiculous and impressive at the same time.

Slowly making some progress. Have to make some modifications on the chest apparatus. But the back aqua breather is coming along. Learning some lessons about high temp glue guns and 2 liter bottles. Both of these are about ready for some PlastiDip .

So, I have finally gotten around to some more sketching about what I want to do for my costume build this year. I just haven’t gathered any of the supplies yet to get the ball rolling. The whole process has been rolling around in my noggin, though. I bet you’d like some context as to what the hell this is going to be.  Not quite yet.
