Afternoon Reading: 「言選り」PV (11/13/2017)
Upcoming 12/13/2017 release single title track - “cotoeri” or properly- “kotoeri” which means “choice of words” The cotoeri AI is an ai (now live to interact with on twitter) designed to take a single word provided by a user and generate a multitude of phrases to choose from using words that relate to it- completely coherence upon reading, no computer word salad. That AI took words provided by Sakurai Kenta from past MBG songs and created a new song. As I shared previous- this gave birth to the “Dialogue with the past” concept.
I would like to sit on the PV a little longer to really digest it. But for now let’s do the checklist! I will update with my thoughts on the PVs tomorrow afternoon for a true “afternoon reading” entry (check the hashtag for previous PV reviews)

Night scenery (exclusively through a window this time; entire PV is indoors)

Member pairing (the first time we have had split screen pairings since “lost age” if I recall)
Blue hue (not sure I have mentioned this before- but it is in almost ever MBG pv)
English subs (This isn’t just overseas fans- this is an aesthetic add-on that just so happens to have plausible function as well)
Visual synced to sound inserts (The camera clicking is the prominent one this time)

Aoi specifically is shown as she interacts with a key; first established in “rooms”.

High intensity backlighting w/ low lighting in the foreground
Complete hand signing of lyrical delivery
Sunset or Sunrise(?) visuals
Clear blue sky (Funny but true)
unique shape of the letterbox - it reflects the shape of the screen display used for the text scroll/light in the PV, viewed in a perspective sense.
Modern indoor setting - the office space they seem to be in for the window scenes to be exact. Every other indoor location in the previous PVs (outside of the empty solid color rooms) has a very classic almost victorian feel.
