I kinda split this up into a two session update because they were both shorter than most but oof this one was rough. The party had agreed with Celadon Battlestar that they would indeed return to fight her to the death when the time comes. Sapphire became “dragon marked” to fulfill this promise with a blue heart appearing on her chest.
Now we come to a part where the party has had some time to rest, but it hasn’t really been restful. Now in Sapphire’s home village of the Hoseki goblins she’s had to confront her controlling mother and bitter sister.
Half of this was an onsen episode and lowkey im so proud of my players for role playing so well and so emotionally (i gave them all inspiration) Everyone laid out their dirty laundry in the bathhouse. No one has a good relationship with their family, except Luna, who was taken from her family at a young age. The idea of forgiveness was brought up. Wisteria and Salyx would have to face their mothers in possible future sessions.
The party did some research on the impending dragon fight they would eventually have to face, and Sapphire met with her sister Aquamarine for nearly the first time after not having been allowed to talk to her. It didn’t go well, aqua blamed sapphire for running away and leaving her country in a war.
They ended up brawling in the square and it did NOT go well. Now sapphires character is honestly extremely op my gf knows her stuff when it comes to making a strong character. I attempted to make a balanced fight but Saph crit on her and she fell about 60ft after hitting 0 hp. She also did this in front of the whole village. In which they responded with disgust and fear. Rushing Aqua to their infirmary. (Aqua is a well beloved member of the community, Saph is a runaway)
So honestly tension has just gotten so much worse. And I have no idea how relations are going to progress.
It’s probably not going to get anymore lighthearted until they decide to leave the village
