"Although he's been dead for nearly 15 years, #ConradBell was quite the personality. . Despite our relationship getting off to an abysmal start when I was assigned to him as an #AIDS buddy back in the days when the disease was still an assured death sentence (I actually had to cry in my car he was so mean to me when we first met), we quickly became close friends. . I would soon enough discover that my "volunteer subject" had one of the most colorful backgrounds of anyone I know: Conrad was one of the most in demand fashion models throughout the 70's and 80's. . He was the #RalphLauren Chaps Man in the early 80's and I still have a catalog series he did with his friend #JerryHall for #NeimanMarcus fur coats. . But that's not all folks, Conrad was a designer in his own right, winning a #Cotyaward for his clothes and accessories, as well as as a costumer for the show "Laugh In". He also was an actor who had his own Starsky & Hutch themed show for a short period of time, as well as the "gameshow circuit" where he won both The Dating Game and the 100K Pyramid. . Conrad taught me by example to make the most of every minute. As he got more and more ill, he still would apply his creativity that was never ending to his artwork which was touching and hysterical. . I think about you often and truly miss our time together. Not once did the man ever complain to me. . There was one time when I went over to help him because he was in so much pain, he could barely see. .
