As she’d learned with Jemma, the best way to tell someone that rumors of your demise had been greatly exaggerated was not breaking into their apartment and eating all their Doritos. As a scientist, Bobbi was more than willing to admit to her mistakes. After all, the best experiments were perfected through a long process of trial and error, and coming back from the ‘dead’ was definitely an experiment she was still trying to figure out. With Coulson, she figured, she was better off showing up to a more neutral ground. She was a lot less likely to get shot if she met him in his office than she was if he came into his apartment to find her in his living room as Jemma had, after all.

Because she respected him, she even knocked on the door before opening it and slipping inside, lowering her oversized sunglasses to meet his eye from across the desk. “So,” she said in way of greeting, “I faked my death. Though, considering the amount of one-on-one time I was spending with Hunter, part of me almost wished it was real.”
