❛ I wonder why she’s staying there... ❜ HE wonders aloud, mostly to himself. There may not be any mist covering the city this time around, but the air is still somber; people were either running about in a panic or seemed to be in a daze altogether. Ritsuka isn’t sure what else he expected after that lengthy voicemail, but even so...
Needless to say, he was a little grateful to bump into a familiar face— it helped ground him back into this reality. The transition from Atlantis to some other island entirely was far from seamless in his mind, but he didn’t have the luxury of time to process. Delaying this too much would result in both the original and the copy dying, after all... so naturally, he didn’t hesitate to offer Okita his aid. His copy could wait; he hasn’t wandered all that much further, anyway. Like his own, Okita’s copy seemed to be staying put. If it were him, would he keep running... ?
❛ Is the island always like this ? One crisis after another ? ❜ There isn’t even exasperation in his tone— if he’s running the risk of getting screwed over every other week, well, nothing’s really changed. It’s just worth knowing in advance so he can plan accordingly.
