Avicii - Addicted to You
Good ole' Avicii. I'm loving this accoustic-electro thing he's doing. Vicky
Avicii - Wake Me Up
This is the beginning of mainstream electro-country. And possibly countstep. Vicky
Rednex - Cotton Eyed Joe (King Kornelius Remix)
And an extra epic one for good measure. Vicky
Infernal - Banjo Thing
Dubstep remixes of country songs are one thing. Here's an original count-step song. Yippee Ki Yay Muthaf&*#$*######s! Vicky
Dean's List - Dear Professor
This track uses a clip from "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry. That makes this a rap/dubstep remix of a country song. What do we call that? Crapstep? Vicky
Taylor Swift - I Knew you Were Trouble (Dubstep Remix) Then there's this. I don't know if it fits the arbitrary guidelines I set out, since Taylor Swift tends to lie deep in the latter end of the country-pop spectrum. Not to mention the song already had some dubstep influence in it, this remix just turns it up to eleven. Nevertheless, I feel like it's an improvement and I would much rather listen to this than the original. Taylor
Pretty Lights - Country Roads (Country Dubstep Remix) This was actually the first countstep song I found, popping up pretty quickly at the top of a google search for "country dubstep". And for a while it looked like it was the only competitor until I found the Hank Williams remix. Taylor
3 Shades of Black - Hank Williams III (Dubstep Remix) If you made a Venn Diagram of dubstep fans and country music fans, the intersection segment would likely be pretty sparse, yet it is a segment that I would fall into. This might explain why you don't really see any country/dubstep hybrid songs, But I tried anyways to find some 'countstep' (pronounced exactly the way you'd think) looking in forums and youtube channels. My requirement was that it had to be an actual dubstep remix of a country song, not just a mash-up of two preexisting songs. In doing my research, I determined that nobody has any clue what dubstep really is (myself included), but I also found this song, which is enjoyable and falls under my interpretation of 'countstep' enjoy!
