The Hidden Strength of Courage the Cowardly Dog
(Spoilers for Courage the Cowardly Dog)
I like how Courage the Cowardly Dog doesn’t always beat the monster by fighting or even outwitting it.
Like how he helps the Duck Brothers find their third brother, how he befriends the Hunchback, or how he helps the Goosey God fall in love with a truck.
One of my favorite things is when he ends up playing handball, chess, or arm-wrestling with his villain.
It’d be so easy for the show to just have him defeat the monster every week (and he usually does). But the fact that there are so many different ways he earns a happy ending makes every ending mean more.
