Hi! I just saw your posts for Binding the Pages of Legends Foretold, and I LOVE the character designs so far! I have so many questions about this AU (super excited, btw), but I’m not sure which direction to go first … could I ask about the Links’ personalities/roles they slip in and out of within the group?

I am very much still workshopping this au and I haven’t gotten to every Link yet when it comes to personality and roles within the group, but I’ll try my best. Also I’ll keep it concise. As to not make a laundry list of things.
Cavalry(Hw) is the second oldest of my Links and he’s kinda the leader. He’s a great strategist and has lots of experience commanding large groups. He’s a bit of a worry wart though and isn’t entirely comfortable with leading a group of children.
Chosen(SSmanga) is the oldest and is often looked to as the wise counsel. He believes that Cavalry is the best choice when it comes to leadership so he put him in charge. He takes the helm sometimes, but he’d rather remedy the more hidden problems of the younger heroes.
Sora(SS) is often the voice of harmony between the Links. A mediator. Cavalry depends upon him to help make strategic decisions and the younger members of the group depend upon him as a spokesperson in important matters.
Hikari(TPmanga) I haven’t gotten to him yet and he’s probably the last one I’ll get to since I need to actually read his manga, but I’m thinking he’ll be the one who keeps track of where everyone is. He’s also a great scout.
Toki(OoT/MMmanga) is the mysterious aloof one. He’s standoffish at first, but he’s got a kind heart. He will do anything to preserve the innocence of those younger than him.
Ringo(ALttPmanga) loves apples and makes it everyone’s problem. He’s a pure soul and would do anything if you’d ask nicely. He’s also got a strange connection to the divine. He asks, they answer. He’s not sure why. He carries a lot of blessed apples with him.
Tech(BotW/Totk) Haven’t gotten to him either. A bit of a wildcard though. We’ll see.
Iro(FSAmanga) is a little hotheaded. He genuinely believes that they can face anything that comes their way with the strength of his new team. He often butts heads with Cavalry over strategy, but both of them are working on it. He’s a great morale booster.
Persevere(TLoZ/AoL) is a quiet powerhouse with a will of iron. Oh man he’s a magic man. He’s got the healing spell, but I don’t think the role of healer is right for him. He’s hopeful for the revival of his land.
Tide(WW/(PHmanga)) is spunky and hyperactive. His voice can level a whole gear shop and junkyard. He will be your big brother no matter how much older you are. You have no say. Tell him your problems darn it!
Whisper(EoW) is hardworking and selfless. He enjoys helping others even with menial tasks. He’s vigilant and has sharp eyes and ears so he makes a good look out. He can’t alert the others with his voice yet so they bought him a whistle.
Pocket(MCmanga) is stubborn. Very stubborn. As the youngest of the group, he’s intent on proving himself, but the older heroes don’t make it easy. Hence, he’s often frustrated and wears a grumpy little pout on his face.
Oracle(OoS/OoAmanga) I need to research some more for this one. So far, he likes to dance and play the harp and he has a lot of animal friends.

My name’s Courage and I’m making an Akira Himekawa manga Links Meet Au called: Binding the Pages of Legends Foretold
I know it’s a long title, but I figured it fit the nature of typical manga titles. Have fun finding a way to abbreviate it. Sorry not sorry. :)
I’m not entirely sure how deep this is going to go, but first and foremost it is for my own enjoyment and I’d love to share it with you!
It’s likely gonna start as mini comics and fics. We’ll see where it goes from there.
Here’s a quick snapshot of what I’m going for:
13 Heroes are thrown into a journey together across time! Each hero has experienced his own adventure in the past which has shaped him as a person.
They have their differences and they don’t always see eye to eye, but soon they find that they enjoy a hero’s solidarity and bond with one another. With time they become as close as brothers.
Learn about the heroes’ different personalities and their pasts through anecdotes, shenanigans or trials endured.

I want to make a Links meet au: Himekawa edition (because I love the manga), but I’m stuck on whether or not to make it a Linked Universe Au or an original Links meet.
My reasoning being:
Lu Au: All the Links with manga have the lore added onto them and I simply make short interactions (via fic or comic) that pokes at it. (Eg. Twilight losing his arm vs. Totk Wild’s Rauru arm)
Pros:
1# I can include LU specific lore and plot which would make things easier than starting from scratch.
2# All characters will be included and recognizable.
3# Juggling characters won’t be any more difficult than it is already.
4# New funny, wholesome and angsty interactions between characters that you already know.
Cons:
1# Contradictory manga lore (eg. Legend would have multiple origins)
2# More limited creativity.
3# Contradicting personalities with the lore.
Original Links meet: Himekawa’s characterizations of the Links will be more prominent and the manga lore will be more thoroughly incorporated. I could only include Links with actual manga (but I love Hyrule, Warriors and Wild so I would rather include them.) I would give them new designs and nicknames. I can decide if I want a plot later. I don’t have one right now. Characters who would be largely different would be Time, Legend and Four.
Pros:
1# More creative freedom.
2# New dynamics and characters (Minish and Oracle).
3# No lore contradiction unless I decide to change something.
4# I could create my own plot (or not even have plot hehe)
5# I can include my own personal headcanons.
6# I’ll make completely new designs!
Cons:
1# Missing Links. Some of the Links don’t have manga and some are only briefly shown.
2# If I want to include said missing Links I may have to create some lore myself to fill the gaps. I would still use the games as a base of course.
3# Legend and Four would have their characters split into two, which isn’t too much of a con, but it’s two more Links to handle.
4# I ship Malink 😭 but Time likes Zelda in the manga.
I’m not sure which I’d rather go with. Heck I could do both! Ugh… I’m so indecisive. I’ll probably do a poll about this.
Any input you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Also small detail but Fi as a lightsaber is just awesome, its such an obvious thing, of course she would be, but oooo that drawing of Sky and Legend where Sky is holding her and shes just a hilt is just, way cooler than it has any right to be? Master Lightsaber. Light saber in the shape of the Master Sword. Its awesome!
Hi! I’m glad to hear that my and my brother’s fun project has interested you!
I was the one who designed Legend for this Au. I’d like to say I put a lot of lore into it but, basically I just wanted to make his hat functional and look cool. As you can see in the second picture it can be removed. His hat functions similarly to a Star Wars helmet, equipped with comm and radio, scopes for shooting, night vision and possibly a camera.
Legend is decked out in gadgets as befitting of a bounty hunter such as himself. He is known as the group’s weapons specialist and he even has jet boots (Pegasus boots).
Fi is a little interesting. I felt that most people would make her a droid or simply a projection of a droid’s AI so I made her an ancient species of alien instead. She is the spirit of an ancient Jedi who aids Sky in his training and the construction of the Master Saber. Hylia didn’t create her as she was simply an ancient Jedi as well (still very powerful though). I haven’t solidified whether she crafted the original Master Saber or if it was the “First Hero.”
