“potter?” draco asked, confused as he spotted the very familiar (had potter not changed at all?) messy haired boy through the crowd. his brain told him to ignore it and carry on talking to friends, but he wasn’t one for listening to reason, so he walked across to where potter was, taking another moment to double check that yes, this was harry, before smirking a little, “fancy seeing you here.”

except it wasn’t really surprising that out of everyone, harry was the one at a muggle party. he always was a friend of the muggles and per the daily prophet; had lived in their world for a long time before realising he was a wizard. draco on the other hand was still surprised at himself for first making friends with muggles then being chosen to come to a party.
