the question of "how did they get popular" doesnt really have a definitive answer, i was here in the fandom when the tag had 1 work and it was just a background pair 🥲. overtime they just became more well known since the grown of mcsr as a whole, and well people gotta know.. is there a popular ship here? and itll be either silverreign or couriberg, but since reign is retired couriberg are the most well known atm, there wasnt a sudden spike in popularity for couriberg, it wad a gradual incline. shipping here is kept very on the down low and only done here really

the reason why theyre paired is because well. they REALLY do it to themselves. take these tweets for example:

but outside of the tweets, couriberg are best friends and have been best friends forr i want to say about 6 years now? back then fein heavily admired couri and couri saw the potential that fein had so long ago, and to this day theyre still supporting each other every day. commonly, you'll see couri talking about fein and praising him as the best minecraft player ever when there are a handful of players who are better than fein mechanics wise. fein always wants couri's words of praise, even saying that he'd push himself to get better at minecraft to always be able to play in the tournament that couri hosts with every 1k milestone he reaches, something that fein has never said before about any other tournament he's played in even though he's extremely competitive with all of them.

they also are synced to the max, you can see it in this vid where they do an escape room together, a vid that has been many ppls introduction to them

whenever they are paired in a team they do extremely well together, which is why they haven't been teamed together any time as of recently. though even when they aren't teamed together or are on opposite teams in events, they still gravitate towards each other and support each other plenty

they just pair extremely well together and also love each other and make it everyones problem <3 they slept together in the same bed under the same blankets irl for a couple days too lol

hahaha ohhh the classic thing i LOVE to tell people about couriberg is this fact.

during the chicago trip of 2025, all of hbg that attended stayed in 1 airbnb together with usually 4 people each room (dylan and silver were a duo that roomed together iirc) and fein couri poundy and tek shared a room, but specifically couri and fein shared a bed because when talking about sleeping arrangements, fein talks about how he had to sneak into the room because couri went to bed so much earlier than him and he would and i quote "crawl over couri and take as little of the blanket possible to not disturb him", meaning yes they shared the same blanket and the same bed for the days of that trip. also notably both of them complained about poundys snores waking them up. but yes during the trip we didn't know this we only knew after while fein was talking and we originally only thought it was different beds but apparently they shared the beds along with picking their roommate so. theres that
