Course calendar, weeks 2-6.
Save the images any way you like. Print them out and use them as wallpaper in your dorm room. Download them and make them into an Instagram slideshow. WHATEVER WORKS - just make sure you know which days you are “invited” to the in-class workshops and when things are due.
You also need to know other important info, like what my grading criteria are and how to find my office ... but that’s another post!

You can already start planning your course timetable using the artsci calendar and timetable in conjunction with one another. For more information on these topics simply type in “timetable” or “course calendar” into my search bar :)

I think you’re the same anon that just asked me the first question :P I think would what be to your advantage is if you looked up the U of T course calendar to see the course requirements for criminology and/or political science (you can study both if you choose). I also think that it is way too early for you to consider about the marks you’d need to get into law school or what avenues to take to get into law school. You can study whatever you please before applying to law school so don’t feel constricted to study what you consider to be law-related fields. Nothing will resemble law school no matter how hard you try to make it work. So, just study what you love and focus on being passionate and that will get you through those really tough parts in your life. So if you love criminology / political science, go for it ducky! Kick it’s butt and take names! if you’re doing it because you think it would look good on your CV, give it a pass. Everyone will be doing the same - stand out because you’ve done what you loved and did it fearlessly.

Hey hey! So, as you know, incoming freshman. :) I've looked through the various tags - russian, int'l relations, post, etc. - but haven't found the answer to this question. I know you only apply to post after your first year, but I want to make sure I'm on track for a specialization in Int'l Relations and a minor in Russian. I know you took IR Spec + a minor - what did you do your first year?

I’ve mentioned before what I took in my first year, and it seems like you’d be taking almost an identical path with me. Instead of minoring in Russian, I, however, minored in French. (I do know people in the Russian Course Union if you want to get more in touch with that organisation)
You can ultimately take what you want in your first year, but the course calendar will give you a gist of what you should take. I took the first french class the placement test put me in (FSL221) and took Vic One which thankfully was eligible as counted courses towards my specialist. I also took a POL course which no longer exists which worked towards my specialist, and I fulfilled my distribution requirement with astronomy (you guys have to worry about breadth requirement which is different than a distribution requirement).
But yeah, the course calendar gives you a great step by step guide about what courses you must take in order to fulfill your requirements. Hope this answers your question ducky, and let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you :)

Hi! I've come to receive your amazing words of wisdom. I got into the life science biology( neuroscience and psychology) program and was wondering how many courses do i have to take? The admin sent me a link to the calender, but it did not help answer my question, may be you can?

Congrats on getting into U of T for life sci! The admin was correct to send you to the course calendar because that’s where you should find your information. However, I will help you out in this instance.
For all things Psychology you will be directed to page 469 in the course calendar. There, you will get an intro on the course as well as a list of the different kinds of POSts you can take from minors to specialists. It’s up to you to decide what you want and then follow the requirements thusly.
Neuroscience will be found under the Human Biology chapter of the course calendar which can be found on page 282. Again, you will find an introduction on the course as well as the POSts available to you and from there requirements, and the entire list of courses available in this department.

Hi again! sorry to ask so many questions (truth be told, I'm just really impatient to be at UofT :) ) I think I saw somewhere that you majored in IR, right? That's what I want to do. How does that work in relation to Vic One? what courses do you take your first year?

Yes, I specialised in IR, which is more than majoring. Regarding how Vic One and other courses fit into the POSt I’m going to link you to the university’s course calendar here. Here you can see what required courses you must take, what courses you are suggested to take, and every other course available to you.
