Claude Monet’s ‘Antibes’ of 1888, currently in the Courtauld Impressionists exhibition @national_gallery. The way this tree slashed the canvas is so wonderful to me, showing his interest in light, and certainly his fascination for Japanese woodblock prints. This exhibition was really enjoyable: a good collection of works by big names, and a rather good entry point for someone who doesn’t know much about Impressionism.
