I wanted to experiment with making a cover title for my future webcomic. I’ll probably make another version later down the road but this is probably going to be the general theme for it. Also it took me awhile but I think I’ve finally settled for the title of the series--I decided on Hearts and Flowers. The phrase itself is an idiom that means highly emotional. The saying comes from a song of the same name that was often used in film for emotional scenes. I thought this would fit well since I really want to tell a story where many of the characters get some sort of emotional development. Not only that, but it can have a double meaning too. Hearts can refer to Charlotte (my Queen of Hearts character) or even just the hearts of every character, while flowers can refer to a fresh start or happy times.
As for the part beneath it, Your true face shines bright, I wanted to add a subtitle of sorts. I’ve seen a few of these in anime/manga series I enjoy (Yona of the Dawn, Your Lie in April, Orange, etc.) and I really wanted to have something similar for my story. True face mostly refers to Charlotte as she always puts on her best face, but after thinking about it a lot of my characters try to hide something about themselves. Throughout the series I’d like to have each character open up and be themselves more, hence the rest of the subtitle.
