I know people are all excited about the LA meet up right now but I’m mostly very frustrated. Like, they spent a whole day hopping around multiple restaurants and public locations. Mask usage has been sporadic at best and the ones that flew in haven’t quarantined at all. Ranboo can justify it by “oh we take daily Covid tests” but those tests are roughly 60% accurate and there’s currently a shortage of them in California due to Covid outbreaks. So they’re wasting tests to go have fun…. Not to mention that the testing daily can tell you if you now have it, doesn’t help all of the people you interact with in a single day if that’s where you happened to get exposed. If they wanted to meet up and go to a single place fine. If they wanted to meet up and stay at someone’s place or rent a big house for all of them even better! Order in tons of food! Temporary streamer house!

Don’t even get me started on “recently very ill Wilbur Soot possibly flying to LA after making it clear he thinks Covid is over” :/ I can only hope Techno tells him to get lost for the foreseeable future cause I DO NOT trust any of them to not put him at risk rn.

I don't know the full extent of who's meeting up in LA, but I saw this picture and it just makes me sick. I know people disagreed with me over the party because UK guidelines and statistics are different or whatever, but I know my country and my own coast. Kids in schools have to sit with their desks apart and masks on (aren't really allowed to work in groups, for example, except in classes where the teachers are more lax on restrictions). People who spend all day in the office have to wear their masks (or don't have to, but most do for safety because the regulations are ridiculous and don't properly account for the situation). The guidelines keep changing as deaths and hospitalizations still bounce around (not to mention all of the post-COVID side-effects and the idiots that won't get the vaccine).

With the test shortage? Congrats, you're rich and privileged enough to go on a nose-poking joyride while other people in shelters and the like have no idea if they've been exposed to it. Not to mention the fact that COVID tests usually take days to weeks to give properly accurate results (you could have contracted it and not know for a significant amount of time - incubation period, I believe) and even then they sometimes give false negatives.

And ALL OF THAT aside, it's so fucking easy to wear a mask. They just don't want to do it. I wear a mask every day for 8 hours straight and I suck it up because I'd rather everyone be okay than be a little more comfortable or whatever. It's so fucking infuriating. "The government says we don't have to" WHEN HAS THE FUCKING U.S. GOVERNMENT EVER HAD THE PEOPLES' BEST INTERESTS AT HEART.

Sorry, I'm just- ahhh. Lol. This is one of those things where - yeah, their lives and choices are theirs to conduct as they please - but I just don't want to support negligent people in any way. The thought of all these streamers flying around whenever they feel like it when so many people are struggling and don't have any of the luxuries they do makes me nauseous. I know they want to "get back to normal" but so do the fucking rest of us.
