When I went outside in the morning, it smelled like a cow stable.

When I was a boy in the countryside

there was a farmer who had cows

I used to smell that scent.

It's not an unpleasant scent, but rather a pleasant one.

Well, in this land, like the Heian period

There is a noble princess,

She will probably go out in an ox cart.

牛車（ぎっしゃ）（韻文）

朝外に出ると、牛の厩舎の匂いがした

私が田舎で少年期を過ごしていたとき

牛を飼っている農家があり

よくその香りを嗅いだものだ。

不快な香りではなくむしろうっとりしたものだ。

さてはこの地に平安期のように

やんごとなきお姫様がいて、

牛車に乗ってお出かけするのだろう。

A while ago, we were at this cow stable with the whole class. I was walking with a friend, and we passed an extremly cute cow, wich was licking its own nose, and acting all weird and stuff. So I started talking to it for fun "awww, hey girl, you're a cute one" I blabbered ."Isn't she adorable?" I asked my friend. "Yeah sure", he replied, "but how do you know it's a girl?" he asked. "It's a cow..." I answered. "I know it is a cow, stupid, but how do you know it's a girl?" I just looked at him, and walked away....
