Dear anon above, I kinda studied the inner workings of the vicious circles that make big artists bigger and small artists smaller, and nah they're actually based specifically on businesses whose entire livelihood depends on what internet randos think and say and do, so people who don't like the state of the system directing their displeasure at those instead of pointlessly chucking it at an artist for not making music they connect with (which, if you'll pardon the refresher, is literally what my post was about) actually is pretty much the only way things change (as numerous instances already proved) short of a bunch of execs getting A Christmas Carol'd. This, of course, completely irrespective of how I post things here because being a writer I am helplessly captivated by articulating my thoughts, and if I gave half a crap if anyone read them I would not have spent six years here - or, in the words of Andre Romell "Dr. Dre" Young, "I do it because I want to, not to stay in the game". So perhaps, spare your advice for people in greater need of it. There are multiple in this post alone.

Lots, actually! I write and play music, I draw, I make silly video edits, I write short and long stories and even have a bunch of blogs where I do edutainment, because I find all those things so much more fulfilling that going around anonymously sending people pathetic hatemail attempts over not liking a celebrity's music little enough. And so do millions of other independent creators that will however never make a living off of what they do, because magazines will waste the lines they could use to shout them out talking about Taylor Swift's toenails because that's what gets more attention, algorithms will waste the slots they could use to push their stuff on Taylor Swift content because that's what gets the most attention, and you are not finding them yourself because you're too busy eating up Taylor Swift content and thinking you're so much clever than the people who eat it up unironically because when you share around little cards with her name and face and brand new album and song and lyrics you are scoffing in the caption.

If you'd like to do your part in having any of those situations change, there is a ton of indie artists I'd be glad to point your attention to - and hey, my work's up for it too if you really are curious. If instead you'd rather keep giving Taylor Swift more of your content and attention, go right ahead - after all, how pathetic and childish would it be for me to hate you over what you think of Taylor fucking Swift?
