“You dizzy?”
“…No. They don’t.” They continued flipping through the tome in their hands. “Many people believe themselves too mature to believe in things such as fairies, but it just goes to show how much is lost when one grows old. It’s a struggle to retain an imagination when you’re told that it’s just make-believe.”
“...It doesn’t sound very mature to just stop having beliefs because people told you not to. Wouldn’t maturity be more like... Making your own decisions on such matters?”A pause, to resort vaer thoughts on the matter. “...I mean, simply because something is slightly beyond the layman’s observation doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.”
“I found it in the palace in my village.” Rem held the book out to Aloden. It was titled ‘The Waltz of Fire: An Archive of Cursed Dances’. “It talks about a bunch of dances that were apparently banned from being used around 50 years ago.”
“...Banned dances, huh?” Aloden was practically buzzing in excitement, opening the book and seeking some sort of index or summary.
“...Cursed dances, Aloden. I’d... I know nothing will stop you two, so... Start with something relatively small-scale in there, okay? I think it's best to gauge what you're dealing with first.”
They take the float. “…Thanks.” They squint at it a little, not really used to drinks like this. They mostly drank water, but something sweeter could be nice for a change.
“Hey, not a problem. You keep the kids in one piece.”
“Aah… I-I see.” Man, she was bad at conversations. “I, uh… Music! Music is also a symbol of love sometimes. I like music.”
“I think music is a symbol of love all the time!” Jai smiled. “It’s always an outburst of passion, towards something. It doesn’t even have to be romantic. There’s so much love in music, towards people, towards times, towards life in general - I can’t wait to share my love with the world through music.”
"Wh-what—!? B-but we don’t even look alike! And you’re a dragon!! Last time I checked, I’m not a dragon!”
"...I went back'n checked my old admittance papers f'r medical reasons th'other day an' before I was adopted, m'name was Lilly Cordoli. A lil' more diggin... An' yeaaaaaaaap... We're blood." A pause. "I'm a dragon in a human prison, so..."
"Ah—!" Down she went. Those sure were a lot of flames. "Shit— A-Atlas is in here somewhere!"
"Shit...! D'ya gotta idea where they are?" Smoke filled his lungs, but - it didn't make it difficult to breathe. First, he'd get Janet out, that couldn't be too hard, then he'd find Atlas.
