1. what was the first element of your oc that you remember considering ( name, appearance, backstory, etc. ) ?
i came up with my own seer lore first tbh. or at least the bare bones of what a seer was anyway which was the ability to see the dead, and the ability to see supernatural creatures for what they really were. once i had that in my head, cosmo came about pretty quickly.
14. if you had to narrow it down to two things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your oc, what would those things be ?
one of the things that i personally have to keep in mind when i write cosmo is that he needs to actually make himself empathize with people. empathizing and understanding other people’s feelings, views and values is not something that comes unconsciously to cosmo, he has to actually train himself to do it. he’s gotten very good at doing this because he has been self - aware since he was very young and he actively wanted to learn how to empathize because he loves his family. so while he instinctively empathizes with noah and stiles ( and in rp anyone that he loves / cares about ), anyone else he has to make himself do it.
this is something that my partners should keep in mind as well because there are going to be instances where cosmo either doesn’t have the time to empathize ( high stress or situations that require instant decision making ) or he doesn’t think that the situation or circumstance needs him to empathize, so he won’t.
the second thing would be that cosmo’s way of showing that he cares about someone is through acts of service and / or quality time. he gets easily flustered and defensive if he has to verbalize his feelings and has a difficult time initiating physical touch because he can’t always figure out people’s boundaries or emotions at the time. as such, he shows he cares by helping with things. running errands, cooking meals, doing chores, fixing things that are broken or in need of repair, or by spending the time. even if he’s busy, even if he doesn’t particularly like whatever it is that he has to do with them, he’ll still do it because being around the person he cares about is worth it.
cosmo isn’t always going to be able to verbalize his feelings or thoughts, especially not without being pressured into it first so try and read between the lines with him.
15. what is something about your oc that can make you laugh ?
the fact that he is so smart until he starts thinking with his downstairs brain. cosmo’s almost always in a state of mild horniness so as soon as something even remotely sexual happens he’s rearing to go no matter who they are. cosmo would absolutely be the person who gets in trouble for banging the enemy and it’s hilarious to me.
16. what is something about your oc that can make you cry ?
how easily he’ll believe someone he loves if they told him they hated him, or found him annoying or any overall negative thought or feeling about him. cosmo does not care what people think about him AT ALL but as soon as someone he cares about has a negative thought or feeling about him, cosmo believes them immediately. if someone he loved ever said they hated him, or said they didn’t love him anymore, or told him he was in the way etc etc, he would believe them straight away.
19. what is your favourite fact about your oc ?
he tries his best to do good things. for someone who genuinely has empathy issues and struggles immensely to sympathize with others, he fights to do good anyway because he feels like he is in a position where he can.
