[List of Fanfic Ideas — Calpernia/Whitney]
I'm going through a lot of stress (bc in an hour I need to shower and leave), which means I get a lot of ideas and concepts that I don't have time to do as of yet. But considering how some people have been posting cpc stuff again (for some reason, no ideas but I wanna join in lol bc I severely do miss this), so I'd like to set my ideas free and (maybe) one day I'll come back to this and put the links of these bad boys under each idea (no promises, I'm just saying it could happen).
I'm gonna be honest, some of these concepts aren't rooted in romance. Could be read as one-sided, or mostly queerplatonic relationship bc my gawd, I didn't realize I could project so hard on these two!
Soulmate AU

I honestly do not like the concept of soulmates, but I really like subverting the concept of soulmates. It always felt too clean cut, forced for these two people to meet and just bam! We good! We're so happy rn!
So considering the concept of Calpernia being aro/ace, I imagine the moment of realization to be gutwrenching for her. The concept of soulmates was something she wasn't allowed to "indulge" in, because she always knew that she'd never be able to actually get together with her soulmate. But that moment when she actually meets her soulmate and it's her fiance, she knew her parents would be ecstatic but for herself, all she could feel was terror and anguish for something that's supposed to be beautiful, sought after.
For Whitney, I think he realized it late. He didn't realize until the male nurses patched him up. Double whammy, imagine the sign was covered by gauze and bandages.
Time Travel AU
"Calpernia, you are destined for greatness. You have no idea the lengths of such greatness, but you are." — Whitney
Centers entirely on young Calpernia's pov and how she sees her kind but incredibly weird fiancee. Leans heavy on the lavender marriage aspect.
Whitney attempts to steer the past in its proper path where Calpernia forms the CPC, but has difficulty acting like his old self and so distances himself and attempts to break the marriage.
While Calpernia begins to believe marrying him wouldn't be bad. Something, something, Whitney grapples with the morality of gaining what he "wants" but at the expense of what Calpernia will eventually have to attain her true happiness.
Beauty and the Beast AU (Different Interpretations) (shared credits to the @the-neighbors-kid bro you probs dont remember this but I DO and it has been haunting me for years now)
1. Calpernia is the Beast
Canon diverges after Calpernia is cursed and Whitney is "exiled" or thought to be dead. Whitney goes through his repentance and after years of fruitless searching for Calpernia returns back to the monastery. He mourns all those he has wronged and when a letter appears seeking help for the Polygon Princess' oldest daughter's affliction.
Calpernia rather than being exiled is hidden away in the Polygon Palace during her cycle. Her family becomes more protective of her and the control over her is amplified.
Whitney joins the nurses as a masked healer as he attempts to placate this angry, emotionally tired and repressed Calpernia.
2. Whitney is the beast
The monochrome family has always been a feared kingdom, such fear led to someone casting a curse upon the family. However instead of weaking them and shaming them, their curse amplified their thirst for power and made it much easier to gain it. The curse is a secret to the nobles and common folk alike.
The polygon family scored a deal with the monochromes, however rather than be picked up or visited. The Princess must go to the Monochrome Kingdom and never look back. Calpernia grapples with her lost dreams, all while Asa's stories of cursed royals rings in her ears.
Genderswap AU
"This is. Y'know Whitney, did you enjoy being a princess?" "I wouldn't say I enjoyed it all that much, thinking about it now, but back then; maybe I did. But... it's probably because I thought everything would be easier if I became Queen."

The AU where aside from Curtis, Whitney is a close second to being a right hand man to Calpernia (her left handed man, you could say lol... would be funnier if Whitney was left handed). It's fr just me indulging over but also a commentary about QPR and how the two have decided to not have any labels pertaining to them, it's just an "us" moment and it feels right.
Whitney who despite his feelings, respects her too much to force his "romantic" feelings onto her (by that Iean confess). Wouldn't feel comfortable imposing her that sort of issue when they aren't even a thing nor do both want to be a thing. I think if Calpernia isn't onboard, than Whitney isn't either.
