He isnt completely a stranger as he’s seen him before ( he left him a few coins so he could go get something to eat ) but he doesnt know his name, and Shay wanted to thank him for helping him. He doesnt know how to repay him, so he supposes that a little hug would suffice. :))

A soft grunt escapes him, startled by the sudden hug to his leg. A quick glance down softens his gaze, and while he’s never been the best around children, he gives the boy a few pats to his shoulder. “You should get home before you catch your death in the cold. Do you know how to get back, should I take you there?”
