You will have so much more fun just making content that you wanna see! Also, embrace whatever change in plots or thoughts that come your way! If you think you wanna write angst, and half way through want to write fluff, go for it!
Also, just do it because YOU like it. Always do it for yourself, or you wont like it and you should dk it for you, not for the glory of others.
