DON’T KILL YOURSELVES!!
OK, insert the Mewtwo quote “It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.” Your lives aren’t over. Say we do lose Net Neutrality. You can grieve, you can be upset for a while, but definitely don’t kill yourselves. There’s a lot of you guys that are really getting drastic about this. Like. Seriously. Instead treat yourselves. Even if we lose the battle (I stress this again), nothing that you had done at this point has been in vain. Look at this:
-Ajit Pai and his croonies being under investigation
-States passing their own Net Neutrality laws and suing the FCC
-If not States, then mayors are uniting across the U.S to get their cities local Net Neutrality
-86% of Americans are all for Net Neutrality according to that statistic from Dec of last year.
You all made this happen. You guys made a statement. Even if they didn’t listen to what we want (But I know they heard us), you all made them scared. We are the generation that will take up their chairs and undo what our predecessors did. (But take the time to thank the politicians that have stood with us since Net Neutrality is going to be a hot topic.)
Second note. Everyday, our rights are always being threatened. It’s just now of all times that we’re noticing it. But in some places moreso than others. Those people out there have placed their lives on the frontlines for just basic human resources. Imagine how they feel. It might seem unfair to use this as a basis for comparison, but for everyone wanting to end themselves...I guess it calls for drastic measures.
On the last note, politics are a funny thing because (at least in this age we live) someone always finds a way to undo it, no matter how many hurdles placed there. A lot of people are saying that Net Neutrality, once is gone, cannot come back. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t implement a system better than Net Neutrality. I’m not a political expert, but based on the political structures I do know off, there is always a system grounded on similar ideas of another system (Be it current or in the past). There was probably something wrong from the very beginning if it was that easy for the FCC to get rid of Net Neutrality. Don’t close your blogs. And most certainty, don’t kill yourselves. You don’t deserve that.
