Instructions: In a large pot, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving bacon grease in the pot. Add diced onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Sprinkle flour over the onion and garlic, stirring to combine. Cook for 2 minutes to remove raw flour taste. Gradually pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, allowing the soup to thicken. Stir in heavy cream and crab meat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
