The Cracked Jar

I saw this in a newspaper today –

“There was once a man who had two jars. He attached them each at the end of a long stick, which he put over his shoulders every morning when he went to fetch water.

One jug was in “perfect condition”, while the other had been beaten and had a large crack, which meant that the jug was only half full after the walk from the river to the house.
