It started with the smell of gunpowder.
It was quiet, save for the clacking of the keyboard, and your occasional rasping chuckle. You barely noticed the room getting cold.
But you did notice the black mass out of the corner of your eye. Just a cloud of smoky darkness, reeking the sulfuric stench of spent gunpowder. You turn to look, and it's gone, but the stench remains, permeating past your own reek.
Unnerved, you return to your computer, trying to chalk it up to hallucinations again. But, after the collar, you start finding it hard to fall back into believing it isn't real.
You turn back to your computer, and there he is, standing over you, staring at you from over the screen. Blood drips down his forehead, his nose, his chin, dripping to the floor, from the hole above his eye. And he just stares.
Before you can move, before you can speak, he's gone, and the smell of gunpowder slowly fades.
