Arts n Crafts Tumblr I need your help!
So I have just recently started a project I will just call "Staressence in a bottle". The idea is to make a small flask filled with glitter, small jewels and other shiney things + a coloured liquid that will then be sealed and can be shaked and you can watch it all float around. I have tried these with regular shaker oil with different amounts of embezzelments and the small glitter pieces and all float slowly to the bottom. Neat!
Here is the problem tho. Anything like small gems or bigger pieces flop to the bottom quickly and can not be properly looked at. Now my second thought was to use a thicker oil. However I dont think food oils like vegetable oil or sunfloweroil would be a) sanitary or b) longlasting. However I also do not know how to look for these kinds of "oils" or if any even exist.
If there is no chance of this working I will admit defeat and stop trying to use these "heavier" embezzelments. If there IS however I would love to hear any alternative. Since I also saw this become a bit of an issue last time I asked a tumblr side, here a lil extra info: I AM NOT FROM THE USA! I am from germany so I will have to also follow german/EU regulations in what particular substances I can use or import.
