A particularly nice batch of porcelain! . . This is the first 9 lbs, if the remaining 991 lbs of it is as fine as this…. What makes a “good” clay? It’s ability to hold its shape and stretch to its full potential of thinness. It’s “tall” clay. Achieved with aging and wedging, the particles of clay form a tight bond. “Short” clay may have been freshly mixed and pugged, poorly wedged, toooo wet… In the hands of a master all materials are productive, yes. But struggling is so last year! This finer porcelain allows for finer shapes. Which inspires finer carving.
