craigshaws replied to your post: LOL HERE GOES. MALLORY AND TANNER GO ON HOLIDAY TO THE BAHAMAS.
/CRYING THIS IS KINDA PERF. ACTUALLY PERF. LOLOLOL. ALL I GET IS IMAGES OF TANNER IN A HAWAIIAN SHIRT AND MALLORY SEVERELY SUNBURNT.
CRY THERE IS ACTUAL BACKSTORY TO THIS. OR SOMETHING.
The explosion is not unexpected, per se, since this is Q Branch, but it definitely is loud. The stream of profanities that trails out with the smoke is what makes Tanner's eyebrows rise.
"Bond," Q says, after his insinuations about people's ancestry and impossible physical contortions wind down, and the name is so sharply enunciated that it could probably slice bread at one hundred paces.
Bond's steps aren't hurried when he appears through the haze, but they're quite a bit faster than his usual lazy saunter. He breezes past Tanner, heading straight for the elevator. "Morning," Bond says with a nod, blue eyes flashing mischievously.
"Bond!" There's a definite rise to the level of Q's voice now and Bond almost hesitates, eyeing the elevator and then the camera mounted above it speculatively. He does a textbook perfect about face without stopping and pushes straight through the emergency exit and into the stairwell.
Tanner sighs and taps at his bluetooth earpiece for cleaning and maintenance, second on his speed dial. "Clean up in aisle Q," he says and cuts off the call just before the first indignant complaint.
He never hesitates, pulling out his tablet and tapping a quick memo for Mallory as he steps into the mess that surrounds a fuming Q.
To his relief, this time the structural damage is minimal, but several of the extremely expensive custom computers look irreparably damaged. He adds a few more words to the memo and sends it off to Mallory's inbox.
Q branch broken. 007 on the run. Should I reschedule your lunch meeting?
The answer comes barely half a minute later and Tanner can read the exhausted resignation through the screen even.
Reschedule everything, Mallory's message reads. Going to need the rest of today to talk Q down from committing murder.
He's just about to reply in confirmation when the double beep announces another message.
I want to see you tomorrow morning, the moment you log in.
Tanner doesn't even blink. Yes, sir.
