Not Another Coachella Blog
(Just to let you know, I’m currently listening to ‘The Tibetan Healing Sounds #1 on Youtube. It is keeping me focused so far…SQUIRREL!)
Sounds: I don’t have many hobbies. I can’t knit, I don’t play many sports, I don’t fancy going to Michaels to buy scrapbook materials, I DO, however, enjoy listening to music and going to concerts. Does that really set me apart from the regular Joe Schmo who also likes doing the same thing? Probably not, nevertheless, I do really enjoy the entire experience of looking up music online, downloading some free tunes, plus those ever so frequent moments where I am frantically looking for my phone while I am at a department store just so I can SoundHound (don’t use Shazam) the song.
Lately I have had some luck of attending pretty memorable shows:
WHAT SO NOT
RAC
JOYWAVE
GHOST BEACH
AZEALIA BANKS
I won’t dive any further on some of these artists because I think I spammed enough of their images on to your Instagram and Facebook newsfeed BUT I think you should give Azealia Banks a listen. She is a naughty lady with some tough lyrics but the beat is catchy! IF I worked out rigorously (or really at all), I would listen to her while dominating the treadmill on a low incline speed level 1.
Sights: This year I did not go to Coachella. If you’ve never been and scoff at the idea of going, then you aren’t aware of how amazing this festival is OR you choose to live a lackluster life and there is simply no reason for you to continue reading. If you haven’t been because it is costly then I can relate! Anyways, I was lucky enough to win VIP tickets to Forever 21’s ‘Party in the Sky’ event. I enjoyed every. Single. Second. Not once did I think it was odd that I was dancing with some overzealous fashionista who probably could not make a distinction between his left and right foot or that the girl with the snaggletooth and stained nylon leggings carried more confidence that any other person I’ve ever met. Did I mention I also met FLUME?! His side project What So Not performed at the event. Never in my most wildest dreams did I ever think that I would be dancing like a complete dork to his music less than 2 feet away from him. He casually stood there wearing his fancy shades, basic white t shirt, brown denim pants and- gosh... I don’t know what it is about him that makes me go weak in the knees.
I did mention nudity earlier in this post. A week ago I decided to give The Edison in Downtown LA another go. If you’re not familiar with The Edison, it is a 1920s themed bar. The layout is just absolutely gorgeous; you do really feel like you’re being transported to another time, that is, until you meet the people. The drinks are pricey but the cover is free! That night there was a burlesque show and sure enough, boobs and butt cheeks were jiggling. Feathers, beads and shiny bras adorned the stage. Would I recommend this place? Yes. Ladies, if you’re planning a night out and want to have an excuse to get dressed up like a flapper, then by all means, flap away to The Edison.
I think that’s it. This Tibetan music is really kickin’ in.
Here are some pretty photos of my adventures. Thanks for reading.

Shortly after this photo was taken, we snagged some free clothes!
