Crashspace Update - Late July 2018
The Loop so far.
Hyperloop is a crazy place. The whole company is focused on solving so many technical problems simultaneously it’s hard to get a sense of where things are. But it’s all pretty interesting.
I’m here for radio design, and am full-time, but still a contractor. Not sure if I’ll become a full employee or not yet. I was thinking after Disney I could use more time on my own projects I’ve been planning, but there’s a lot to get done here, maybe it’s more useful to focus on that.
Crashspace continues to be the coolest place to be, our art show last month was astoundingly successful and has brought a lot of new people in. Our annual member meeting is coming up, and plans for the next year are percolating.
open data from scientific experiments are becoming more common, and more useful. I think I'm going to have to organize a data viz, meta analysis for citizen science event at crash space soon.

We’ve launched our Indiegogo campaign to get a new CNC Mill and provide you with cool classes. Check out the link for more details.
Tara and Sean are the most exciting married couple I know.
(They're hackers-in-residence at Sparkfun, a prototype electronics provider we buy a lot of stuff from at crashspace.)
Come to Crashspace and battle for Architectural Supremacy!
A competition between bridges, alike in teeniness. Two feet in span, made of toothpicks and glue. Whosoever bridge holds the most weight wins the grand prize.
Bring yourself, an idea, and a few dollars to chip in for all the toothpicks and glue you’ll use.
Starts at 1pm, runs for three hours, at which point we’ll adjourn for some snacks and to let the glue dry for an hour. Then we return for the weigh-in, where we mercilessly pour weight on your bridge until it fails, and record the load. Highest load takes the mysterious prize.
August 4th @ 1PM – 6PM Open to the public, free event, donations welcome.
I finally scheduled some more classes so you can learn all about the easiest microcontroller platform there is. Come and take home a new understanding of Arduino, a few functional projects we'll make in the class, and a kit of parts to do more.
