Une façon de faire le noeud de cravate
The Les Mis Rarepair of the day is...
❤️ Valjean/Cravatte ❤️
Instead of going to Digne, Valjean camped in the mountains and got adopted by a band of robbers. Rather than having his soul bought for God, he begins robbing cathedrals with them. Slowly, he and their leader grow closer...

the plights of ex-convicts and robbers do not concern me
Thank you les mis letters for reminding me of the bishop's hot brigand boyfriend
The bishop was more likeable in this chapter because while he respected his sister and Mme Magloire by not exposing them to the same danger he exposed himself to as a matter of principle, he also says great lines like this:
“‘Let us never fear robbers nor murderers. Those are dangers from without, petty dangers. Let us fear ourselves. Prejudices are the real robbers; vices are the real murderers.’”
In letting Mme Magloire and his sister stay at home, he at least recognizes that his journey is a hard one (and possibly that while everyone is responsible for others to an extent, his spiritual responsibilities are greater than theirs because of his position as bishop).
At the same time, his own lack of outward fear in visiting stresses the transformative power of kindness, as the result of his journey is that Cravatte is moved to give him what the cathedral needs.

Today's chapter is my favourite one about the bishop. Strong Robin Hood vibes. 😄

Take a look at the wild, bold, colorful, and naughty designs that have swelled men's chests throughout necktie history. Follow the development of this manly fashion, from fabrics to tie care, and enjoy an astounding kaleidoscope of colors and motifs. Hundreds of neck and bow ties from the late twentieth century are displayed in 340 color pictures. The designs range from the incredible "Bold Look" ties of the late 1940s and early 1950s to the thinly conservative ties of the late 1950s. The early 1960s produced mundane ties, but Pop, Op, and Psychedelic Art ushered in another era in the late 1960s and early 1970s called the "Peacock Look," characterized by extremely wide ties and extravagantly wild prints. Finally, take a tour of the stylistic progression ties made through the 1980s and 1990s.
