Agreed. We can clearly never let them out of our sight again. Happen to have any ships we might just move onto? Perhaps if we can prevent them from ever being more than eighty feet away from us, that can help curb their... curiosities. -S. Adams [CRB]
Unfortunately Mister Adam I can not commandeer a ship just for the purpose of keeping Mister Fitzroy or Mister Warren out of trouble. (Nor do I appreciate having to be monitoring the activity of someone who likes to remind me of the centuries of experience he has over my few decades).

Her family had left, her family had left her to die. That thought was the only one that she had had in the last hour. They had not expected her to survive the hour let alone the night, and they had needed to leave the house, to get to safety. Still it hurt that they had left her alone for what they thought would be her final hours, bleeding out on the divan where they had put her.
Alice could remember the attack clearly, the rebels had run across their farm and she had been out to bring her brother in for supper. It had taken them both by surprise as rebels entered the part of the farm, and precious seconds were wasted before they began to run. They were grabbed quickly and before she knew it a blade entered her torso, her brother had been quick taking out a pistol and pointing it at the men, they ran and he carried her into the house.
Her family looked at her with pity but they had decided to leave, to make their way to a city that could offer them more protection. Leaving her alone with a bible, brandy, and some food was left on a table near her, to dull the pain and so she could beg forgiveness from God.
Alice watched the sun rise in the sky, it was still early morning but shadows were being cast from the sun shining on the lace curtains. That’s when she heard noises, she sucked in a breath, which made her wound hurt more. She wondered briefly if it was her family but decided against it, it was much more likely that the rebels from the evening before had made it back. She watched the entrance to the room, she heard voices that seemed excited, none of them were her family’s and she felt that little bit of hope crush.
Eventually someone entered the room she was in, her hand covering her wound and her face wrinkled in pain. It was likely that if they were rebels they would just finish the job that had already been started, though he did not look like one of the men from the night before.
Comes and Goes 🔮 Luna + Sam

Nova clings to Luna’s back, giggling gleefully as they glide gracefully through the crowds. There is a play area just up ahead and Nova knows that’s where they’re headed even though thus far she hasn’t shown signs of having the same gift her mother does. In truth, Luna is relieved for that. She’d like her daughter to have the chance to forge her own path instead of being stuck on this preordained one.
As soon as they arrive Nova is off, swishing around and looking for familiar faces and things to play with. And Luna can finally just rest. A rare delight as a single parent. Part of her wants to nap but there’s no way in hell she’d do so, not while Nova is off playing. She knows anything could happen the second she closes her eyes.
So she watches. Reads only a little, glancing up every few seconds so the whole act becomes pointless. Eventually she settles for just leaning back in her comfortable seat and enjoys the sight of her daughter playing happily. When Luna sees a familiar face though, she can’t help but smile brighter.
The few friends she had before Nova pretty much disappeared, and her job didn’t exactly allow for a big social circle. But another single parent was easier to bond with. Having that in common was pretty rare. “You look as tired as I feel,” she comments in place of hello.
