#creative visible mending

the epic mending saga of these jeans... I think I have done my last mend on them, as I don't know if I have it in me if they rip again!

I had to refresh this mend on my girlfriend's jeans, as the previous mend i had done with larger stitches and embroidery thread eventually wore out due to her love of cycling.

I patched this with repurposed polyester flannel from pyjama bottoms, and used my strongest thread which happened to be cream embroidery thread of a different manufacturer.

I stitched some of the new sashiko before removing the old stitches, so that I didnt have to re-pin the original patch in place. Then I cut the old stitches into smaller pieces and pulled most of them out of the fabric.

I got to do most of this when a non functioning VPN allowed me to not work for most of this afternoon, and then worked on it more this evening. Im very happy with how it turned out.
