It’s Week 29 of Lakewood Community Acupuncture sharing the Be Better Movement challenges (learn more about their mission at www.bebettermovement.com). This week’s #bebetter52 challenge is to practice solitude for at least 30 minutes, which is sure to bring many benefits to your well-being. There is a difference between solitude and loneliness; loneliness is associated with a sense of isolation, while solitude is a state of being alone without being lonely. This “alone time” leads to a new level of self-awareness that can benefit your life greatly. If you’re thinking to yourself, “I’m too busy to make time for solitude,” then you’re likely to reap the most benefits from this time. While it may seem like “alone time” is wasting time that could be better used to get work done, it’s scientifically proven that solitude increases productivity. Solitude can also spark your creativity! This is why many artists tend to isolate themselves in nature when working on a project or searching for inspiration. Other studies show that happiness, life satisfaction, and stress management increase as a result of a person’s ability to tolerate “alone time.” Most of all, solitude gives you an opportunity to know yourself better. #solitude #alonetime #creativecultivate #peaceofmind #peaceandquiet #mellowmoments #soloadventure #mondaymotivation #challengeaccepted #lakewoodcommunityacupuncture (at Lakewood Community Acupuncture) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz8F-X7F_GH/?igshid=166ihvmyns3iq
