For a third year, as part of the Creative Grounds initiative, Borderless Studio invited ¡Anímate! Studio (a.k.a. Andrés and me) to participate in the annual Community Day at the former Overton Elementary School, alongside local students, residents, artists, architects, community organizations, and more.

In alignment with the event’s larger themes, we invited participants in our drop-in sign re-painting activity to specifically consider climate and cultural resilience as they created custom signs with a message of their choice. As in past iterations, this activity involved reusing corrugated plastic yard signs, each originally produced in support of a political candidate. This time, participants could either take their new sign home or leave it to be added to a community structure onsite, which had been created in collaboration with local high school students.

I didn't tell y'all I found these in the old class room 109, days ago. SO... I walk into the new room to make a plan of attack for starting the drawing all over again on the new floor and voila. What's that on the floor... I was straight up like Lmaooooo I guess the universe of ancestors speaking huh?!? l o l That's wzup... Nah let's make it!
