Hi Liv! :D what's your favorite drink during cold weather?
hi! ^-^
either a chai latte (perfect for writing) or hot chocolate (classic, festive)
What kind of video games would the different characters like?
If she were to ever play a video game, Agau goes for those Super Realistic city planner sim games.
Beth is like me; she likes simple, charming, resource gathering games that are relatively low stress. Finnigan introduces her to fishing games and she loves them.
I think Hans likes space themed exploration games. Piloting a spaceship is akin to flying, and the mans got one (1) thing associated with him, so. That feels right.
I don’t know what Hallie plays, but I know that she will hyper focus and dump hours on hours of playing a marathon session of it. Long games with hours of content are her friend, but she’ll play anything I think. It’s more about the stimulation than the game, so her comfort zone for games she’ll play is way bigger than the others.
Christian doesn’t play, he’s afraid he’ll melt the controllers in his hands, but he loves to watch his friends play. To him, video games are a spectator sport.
Matt plays like classic Nintendo stuff. Mario Kart, Smash Bros (with Hallie), etc. Christian loves to watch them.
Michael plays indie games and paint simulators.
Livyatan melvillei: A whale, the size of a modern sperm whale, that had the largest teeth (1.2ft) of any animal, excluding tusks. The name comes from "Leviathan" and "Melville", as in the author of Moby Dick.
Helicoprion: A shark, 15ft long, with a spiral of serated teeth. There's some uncertainty about how exactly its teeth worked due to most fossils of it just being these teeth, but they were in the lower jaw, and sure were funky. It's thought they spun backwards and were used to eat squishy prey that could be hard to grasp.
Dunkleosteus: The largest species could reach almost 30ft long. Instead of teeth, this giant armored fish had sharp bone plates, and between how quickly it could bite, and how powerful its bite force was, it likely had no problem eating its armored prey.
These are just some real life prehistoric sea monsters I think are super cool, I'll probably send another ask with fictional ones!
HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT OL SPIRAL JAWS MCGEE. What absolute nonsense lmao. And a good reminder that I can be absolutely absurd with my creature designs.
But I actually really like the armored fish! I think it’s a good small monster? Like obviously still a threat, but not like.., on a kraken scale. I might put something very similar in!
I would LOVE to hear about float. You said everyone appears on different boats, what kind of boats did some of the other crew members appear on?
This is an excellent ask that has made me realize 1. I don't know that many kinds of boats and 2. The Wikipedia page for Types Of Boats is my friend.
THAT BEING SAID
Venus probably showed up in a small one sail boat, like a drifter fishing boat (x). This is (part of) what qualifies her as a first mate, because she had figured out how to sail before Aspen picked her up.
Dirt probably just showed up in a dinghy, which is just a small, basic lifeboat type thing. (x)
I think Brook and Blossom would have showed up on either a two-person kayak, or they each get their own kayaks. Something they could maneuver around in, and stay close to each other.
As for Vera, I think she arrived on a pinnace (x) fully stocked with medical supplies. Which made her a very valuable find.

The side of the family that the Madagascar penguins don’t talk to
On the topic of FLOAT, is there any particular character you think I would like a lot? If not (because I can see how that could be a hard question), who is your favorite, and why?
Well I know you like Ash, your storm cloud girl, and there are similarities there between them and Aspen!
They’re both take-charge ladies who are good at their job, but Aspen is a bit more open with her emotions and feelings and the sheer love she has for everyone than Ash is. Ash buries it, and lets it motivate her, but Aspen makes sure every member of her crew and everyone she saves is appreciated. Aspen sees that as the key to their survival, and she’s right.
I think she’s my favorite tbh. What’s not to love about a headstrong captain who, even after all this time, even after knowing firsthand how hopeless the struggle is, keeps fighting anyway?
#love the constant little mentions of Hans' muscles lmao
@creativilee you will be happy to know this is a constant in SOLE canon too
