Welcome to Creators’ Stories, I have created this community because I am passionate about the creative arts, innovation and entrepreneurship. Almost ten years ago, in 2008 when I was in art college I created the idea for ‘Spindle Magazine’ - a fashion, music and arts publication that supported new emerging talent. At the time, my idea for the concept stemmed from my passion to showcase new creatives work. It gave myself, and the countless creative people I met over the years a platform to promote their creations.
I parted ways with Spindle Magazine in 2017 after selling the brand to a digital agency. Over the past nine years I have learnt so much, and equally made a lot of mistakes. I have created and sold a brand before turning 30, which 19-year-old Heather in art school would never have thought that possible, especially coming from a working-class town in the middle of the UK where there is hardly any artistic community.
My journey so far has made me realize that I have so much knowledge to share, and so do lots of creators. Being creative and entrepreneurial we gain inspiration by knowledge sharing and connection, so as Creators’ Stories develops, I hope you’re able to come to the events, find inspiration from the interviews, and connect with the community.
