Commentary

Last of this lovely palette, I enjoyed the challenge it presented and the dark colors made for some lovely sea sides. The theme provoked images of some monster washed ashore but I try to do the second idea that comes to mind instead of the first thus we have our crabs. Initially my plan was to have a tiny crab laying siege to a sand castle city but I am woefully ill and the spirit was unwilling for such a workload. So I doubled down on the crabs and gave them a big parent watching over them which I think worked really well for the piece overall.

Commentary

Who the devil is Feliciano? Some well liked character for Creatunary perhaps. This is the last of this Prompt List we had some highs and boy did we have some lows. Happy with the results overall. Next month I'll be doing the first challenge that actually updates.

Theme Nymph of the four seasons

Commentary

Oh boy oh boy this one did my head in trying to make look just right. None of you people know but I made this about 5 different times before snapping out of a stupor with inspiration for how to finally make it look right. Its not the original image I had in mind but I can be pleased with getting somewhere near what I wanted. I apparently spent all my skill and abilities making those trees framed to perfection

Commentary

So I had an immediate vision of the Skybax riders from Dinotopia, people trained to ride pterodactyls and such. With the yellows and browns at my disposal the canyons of the Dinotopia region was easy to capture. Finally for the creature in this Creatunary I made a quetzalcoatlus designed for blending into the skies to drop onto unsuspecting foes. Last of the airy themes now I can move onto bigger prompts.

Whispering Wind Elemental

Commentary

This theme bothered me because I think whispering and think quiet. So I made a half dozen sketches and thumbnails trying to make it whispering when finally I dug into the bad ideas and had the elemental literally whispering in someone's ear. This whole set isn't doing me any favors.

Theme Cyclone Griffon

Commentary

I remember being a kid having figured out the secret to drawing twisters and lightning bolts and after googling pixel art cyclones my inner child took the reins and let chaos reign. Originally the griffon used the brighter end of the palette but it seemed appropriate to darken it with the coming storm.
