Here is the creature lore of the world around Themis. If there is a creature you'd like to see added to the list, please feel free to reccomend one.
The vampires at Themis are mostly considered outcasts among their brethren; pretending to be human is taboo in the covens. Some simply do not care, and choose to live within the few havens like Themis that exist around the world, but are often hated by other vampires. Like the general lore, they can't go out into sunlight
Can't digest real food; blood is the only way to survive.
Animal blood will do for those who prefer to be 'vegetarian'.
Pupils turn black when hungry.
Sunlight will kill them. They do not sparkle.
Holy water does burn their skin.
Fiction: garlic and crucifixes are useless.
Werewolves are humans who have been bitten by other werewolves and inflicted with a virus that is passed from the saliva of the werewolf into the bloodstream of the victim. It is possible to obtain the virus without being beaten, as any contact with a werewolf's saliva or blood with an open wound will potentially infect the person.
Affected by the moon cycle; moodiness is frequent near the week of the full moon.
Unable to resist primal instinct the last few nights of the moon; most tend to become quite rebellious and sexually active.
Transforms into a werewolf when the full moon is present.
Has a tendency to crave animal meat more than anything.
Allergy to silver - any contact with the metal and the bloodstream will poison the werewolf, and has the potential to kill them if not treated immediately.
Extremely rare. (currently limited to two hounds in this rp.)
Hellhounds were once humans - surprisingly noble humans, in fact. Demons in need of their hellish companions often look for good humans in a vulnerable situation, and strike them a deal they can't confuse. They get to keep their souls in exhange for their humanity. Most humans blindly accept the contract not knowing what this entails. Demons control their hounds with fear; and fear cannot be felt by the soulless. By letting them keep their souls bound in these terrifying beasts, they can manipulate them and control them as they please.
Most hounds are permanently beasts because it's more convenient, but some demons find it more effective to allow their hounds to take their former human forms, just to take it away from them again. Doing this adds to the fear factor, and often makes the hounds more compliant and submissive.
They can only eat human flesh. Their bodies reject anything else.
In their beast forms, they have no eyes. They can see the wicked and sinful, which is their primary target of choice. They can't see those who are pure of heart, which inevitably keeps those few who are safe from harm's way.
Holy water, and bible verses can severely hurt them.
They're very difficult to kill.
Known for their ability to cast spells. Usually Witches and Warlocks are supernatural creatures that came from a family of their kind or has a distant relative that is a witch or a warlock.
One can know if a Witch or a Warlock is powerful through their lineage. If a certain person came from a family of pure witches and warlocks, they are considered one of the powerful group of witches. If they came from a family that has half witch and warlock lineage, they are powerful according to how much witches, or warlocks, is in their family lineage.
A pure blood witch/warlock can cast a spell at any moment, unlike half blood witch/warlock, can only cast a spell according to the phases of the moon.
A witch/warlock, is limited when it comes to high spells, like control someone’s mind, or body. Bringing the dead back to life. Cursing a certain being, etc.
A witch/warlock, whether pure blood or half blood can instantly know if someone is a simple human, or a human with abilities, a werewolf, a vampire, etc.
Is a creature that is nearing to extinction. It would be rare to find a mermaid.
It is said that if you find a mermaid, they will grant you one of their melodic songs and a wish.
> A mermaid can have feet once they are out of the water. But once their legs or feet touches water, their tail would appear.
> A mermaid is required to be at sea when it is a full moon, to rejuvenate their loss of life underwater.
Is a feminine spirit that wails when someone is about to die.
Everyone believed that a Banshee is just a spirit and nothing else. But they are much more than that. Banshees are spirits that chooses if someone is about to die. They are rare, and is only seen when a person, usually a warrior, is about to die.
Are once humans who was given a chance to have a second life.
The thing about whitelighters are, some of them doesn’t remember who they are in their first life and some does. As a whitelighter, they can see ghost, for they were once a ghost themselves.
They have been described in folklore as the evil and most manipulative and cunning creature. Little to they know not all demons are as bad as they seem to be. Some had chosen to side with the good, and some remained bad.
In the world we are in now, demons have taken their side.
They are common among us. Some disguised themselves as humans just to fit in and try to have a human life. But some, shows their powers to have riches of their own.
>Demons can shape shift to anyone.
They can also manipulate someone’s mind.
Demons are immortal and can only be killed by a cross or holy water.
They are all transparent, died during their lifetime.
Some ghost chose to live in peace on the other side, but some chose to stay here on earth.
> Ghost can be seen if they wanted to be seen, if not, then not.
A ghost can take over someone’s body.
Can have a physical form if the have a foothold here on earth. Usually a feeling for a living being, or a witch’s spell that gives her a foothold.
In many folklore, a fairy is described as a little girl that has wings, and is usually related to nature. But little to they know fairies have many kind.
Fairies can take human form, if they wish.

A fairy that has power of fire
A fairy that has power over earth. Can make a simple earth rock into a gemstone.
A fairy that can give life to living creatures(only applies to small creatures like birds, bees, etc.)
Usually the wisest and oldest of the fairies
A fairy with the ability to control the air
Usually outgoing and fun loving
A fairy that has power over plants and flowers
Usually outspoken and loving
A fairy that can take away life from a living creature (only applies to small creatures like birds, bees, etc.)
Has the ability to control the weather.
Rarely comes down from the clouds.
Appears as little kids, or even smaller, but can also take a form of a grown up human.
They are creatures who loves to have fun a lot and will always make trouble.
